Meet the Artist

Hi! My name is Emily and I am so glad that you are here.

If you have a moment, I'd love to share a little about myself and how Garage to Kitchen Pottery was created.

I fell in love with pottery in my high school & community college ceramics classes. However, I fell out of practice when I no longer had access to a kiln and tools on a regular basis. For the last decade, I focused on growing my beautiful family and working conventional jobs. While it worked for my family and I, I never really felt like I found my passion. For the last few years, I sought out to find it. I began testing out the waters with wood working projects, painting canvases, gardening, cooking from scratch, and other fun hobbies. Then, a year ago, I bought a block of clay and a few simple tools with the intention of keeping my hands busy and decluttering my thoughts. I never expected for it to be a sustainable hobby, let alone a business, until I was generously gifted a kiln from my parents. Gratefully, I was able to turn our garage into my own personal art studio.

I discovered that I love making pieces that are functional and practical, all while being a one-of-a-kind piece of art. With my hobby of cooking and baking from scratch, I was inspired to make pottery that could find a nice home in a kitchen and be used regularly. This was when my dreams of owning my own pottery business began to flourish. With the guidance and support from several friends and family, and a lot of time and dedication, I am incredibly blessed to introduce to you Garage to Kitchen Pottery.

Thank you for stopping by, it was lovely meeting you!
